Center of Hope Children Ministries works to ease suffering by providing millions of meals to hungry people every year

Almost 60 percent of the country is unemployed. Two-thirds of the labor force do not have formal jobs.

Years of wholesale tree removal and poor agricultural practices have left the environment ravaged. With the ecosystem dying and soils depleted, Ugandans have limited sources for clean water or fertile land for their crops.

Every day is a struggle to survive

Center of Hope Children Ministries  work is chiefly focused on improving the lives of children who suffer under these extreme hardships.

Many Ugandan children are severely malnourished because they go day-to-day without food–or in an effort to fill their stomachs, they eat on garbages, dustbins or whatever they can find.Astonishingly, one in ten Ugandan children never live to see their fifth birthday. For the poor, finding food is top priority. Many children and most adults do not have a full meal a day.

CHCM works to ease their suffering, providing millions of meals to hungry people every year. We travel deep inside the communities of Uganda (to what we refer to as the “regions beyond”) taking food and water to some of the most remote villages.

Children under our care receive a hot meal every day–that’s food for more than 31 children daily and other families in the community! For many of our children, it’s the only meal they will eat that day. Beyond filling their bellies, these nutritious meals fuel their developing minds and bodies giving them a chance of reaching their full potential.
